Grayson drops three hard-fought games

LEITCHFIELD — Grayson County suffered its third straight loss Jan. 26, as Whitesville Trinity prevailed 51-47 in the Cougars’ homecoming game.
With the loss, Gray­son County slipped to 8-13 overall and 3-2 in the 12th District, while Whitesville improved to 12-11 overall and 2-1 in the district.
The Raiders owned a lead at the conclusion of each quarter. After edging Grayson County 14-13 in the opening quarter and clinging to a 25-24 lead at halftime, Whitesville Trinity outscored the Cougars 14-4 in the third frame.
