About Us

The Record is Grayson County’s largest newspaper, and is published weekly on Thursdays.

It was founded Dec. 4, 1980, and was purchased by Landmark Community Newspapers Inc. (LCNI) in 2002.

LCNI is a group of small weeklies to nearly 30,000 circulation dailies with more than 50 newspapers in 12 states, including The News-Enterprise in Elizabethtown, the Kentucky Standard in Bardstown, and the Central Ky. News-Journal in Campbellsville. LCNI is a division of Landmark Communications Inc., a privately held media company in Norfolk, Va., with interests in newspapers and special publications, TV broadcasting including the Weather Channel, cable programming, outdoor advertising and education.

The Record’s office is at 20 Public Square, Leitchfield, KY 42754. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Advertising deadlines:
Retail and classified display ads must be at The Record office by noon Monday.
Classified readers ads and YARD SALE ads must be turned in by 5 p.m. Monday.

News tips, opinions, photographs and submitted items can be made to news@graysonrecord.com or dropped off at the office. Items for "What's Going On" must be submitted by noon Mondays.
