Led by a police and firefighter escort, seven buses of Lawler Elementary School students take a victory lap around parts of Leitchfield Oct. 14 to celebrate their School of Distinction ranking on the latest Unbridled Learning tests. The route was lined with cheering adults, many with encouraging signs, who waved and shouted to the students. In turn, the kids waved and shouted to the crowds and chanted "Lawler Lions."
Schools celebrate top assessment rankings

A victory lap around Leitchfield. A parade through Clarkson. The Grayson County Schools District is hosting some very public celebrations of students’ achievements in the recently-released Unbridled Learning report.
The school district received an overall “Distinguished” rating under Unbridled Learning, the state assessment and accountability system.
To earn the “distinguished” classification, a school or district had to score above the 90th percentile, meaning it ranked in the top 10 percent in the state.
