    Lacy Junior Spencer, 83, of Big Clifty died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at his residence.

    He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Grayson County, the son of Lacy Howell Spencer and Ollie Floyd Spencer.

    Survivors include his wife, Katherine M. Kinkade Spencer of Big Clifty; six children, Beverly Miller of St. Paul, Marilyn Sue Beeler of Big Clifty, Jeanett (Gary) Darnall of Brandenburg, Connard (Mary) Spencer of Big Clifty, Gloria (Jerry) Shields of Sunfish and Barry Spencer of Big Clifty; a sister, Cova Gibson of Leitchfield; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

  • Mary Lois Decker Cannon Brown, 86

    Mary Lois Decker Cannon Brown, 86, of Hardinsburg died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

    She was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Lester and Rollie Carter Decker.

    She was a housewife, who enjoyed quilting and painting. She was a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church in Leitchfield.

  • Robert Michael Shain Pierce, infant

    Robert Michael Shain Pierce, infant, of Leitchfield died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at his home.
    He was born June 22, 2013, the son of Justin Shain Pierce and Sherry Lynn Wilkins
    Survivors include his parents, Justin Shain Pierce and Sherry Lynn Wilkins; a brother, Lucas Wilkins; maternal grandparents, Juanita (Wayne) Payton and Bobby (Marti) Basham ; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Joyce Pierce; great-grandparents, Connie and Paul Stevenson; and several aunts;
    uncles; and cousins.

  • Nora Haycraft, 89

    Nora Haycraft, 89 , of Clarkson died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
    She was born Dec. 21, 1923. She was a housewife and member of Sulphur Wells Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ollie Blessitt Kerr and was married to the late Carlie Haycraft. They were the parents of six children.

  • Phyllis Pittman Logsdon, 63

    Phyllis Pittman Logsdon, 63, of Leitchfield died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at her home.
    She was born Aug. 12, 1950, in Marion, the daughter of Howard and Norma Millikan Pittman.
    She was a floral designer, who enjoyed gardening, playing her dulcimer and quilting. She was a member of Grayson County Historical Society, Dulcimer Club and a member of Leitchfield United Methodist Church.

  • James Elmer Snyder, 85

    James Elmer Snyder, 85, of Millwood died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.
    He was born March 9, 1928, in Edmonson County, the son of the late Leonard and Ada Constant Snyder.
    He was retired from American Standard. He loved working his Belgian horses, farming, gardening, and using his tractor. He was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and attended Fox Run.

  • Don White, 76

    Don White, 76, died Aug. 15, 2013, at his residence in Clarkson.

    He was born June 13, 1937. He was a farmer and was married to Linda White. He was the son of the late Carl and Bessie Knight White.

    Survivors include his wife, Linda White; two sons, Alan and Aaron; two grandsons, Tommy Hayes and Little Aaron; a granddaughter, Marty; Megan Ward- caregiver and fiancée of Aaron; a brother, Leonard and his wife, Alma; a special niece, Patty; and sons, A.J. and Devin; along with many nieces and nephews.

  • Leslie Willis, 67

    Leslie Willis, 67, of Leitchfield died at his home Thursday morning, Aug. 15, 2013.

    He was a retired construction worker, member and former pastor of Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church. He was born Oct. 27, 1945, the son of the late Oval and Ellie Logsdon Willis. He was married to Shirley Haycraft Willis.

  • James Allen Carwile, 53

    James Allen Carwile, 53, of Leitchfield died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013.

    He was born Feb. 17, 1960, in Hardinsburg, the son of the late Robert Preston and Flora Elizabeth Osborne Carwile.

    He was a supervisor for Bell Cheese, was an avid UK fan, enjoyed fishing, boating, collecting and working on clocks and music, especially the Eagles. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

  • Charles Dewayne Chopp, 38

    Charles Dewayne Chopp, 38, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Ohio County Hospital.

    He was born Nov. 25, 1974, in Fountain Valley, Calif.

    Survivors include his wife, Valerie Ann Chopp of Caneyville; two daughters, Samantha Lee-Ann Chopp of Leitchfield and Alexandra Michele Chopp of Caneyville; parents Charles Dewayne Chopp Sr., of Louisville and Gail Ruth Greg of Caneyville; a grandson, Charles Bentley Alexander Freeman of Leitchfield.

    A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 10 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Leitchfield.
