    Velena Logsdon, 89, of Leitchfield died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
    She was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Hart County, the daughter of the late Glen and Greedie Taylor Butler.
    She was a homemaker and a member of Broadway Missionary Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Logsdon; two sons, Theodore and Cleon Logsdon; two daughters, Myrtle Dunn and Ethel Sandage; two granddaughters, Margie Dunn and Rachel Woolen; and a great grandson, Garrett Sanders.

  • Judith Ann Stallings, 79

    Judith Ann Stallings, 79, of Leitchfield died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at her residence.
    She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Louisville, the daughter of the late Ralph Denver and Grace Shaw Butts Denham.
    She was a housewife and homemaker who loved to paint and do crafts and was a member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church.

  • Donald P. Rankin, 85

    Donald P. Rankin, 85, died Oct. 11, 2013, in Louisville.
    He was born Sept. 28, 1928. He was a farmer and an Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
    He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Doyle of Stephensport; two sons, Douglas of Peonia and David Rankin of Leitchfield; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Rankin of Chicago, Ill.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rankin; a son, Terry Rankin; his parents, Paul and Opha Hutsell Rankin; and a brother.

    Mayron Justis Cockrel, 88, of Bowling Green died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, from Lewy Bodies Dementia. 
    She was born in 1925 to Richard E. (Sr.) and Alice Woosley Justis in Louisville, KY.

    Pearl Beauchamp, 77, died Oct. 8, 2013, following an extended illness.   

    She was born May 1, 1936, in Illinois to the late Clarence and Thelma Geary Sarver. She was married 61 years to Albert Rollin Beauchamp.

    Elwanda Lois Joiner, 88, of Falls of Rough died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.

    She was born March 20, 1925, in Yeaman, one of 13 children of the late W.B. and Pinkie Beatrice Sarver Smith

    She retired in 1981 as a teacher from the Grayson County School System. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and quilting. She and her husband, Leon were married in 1950. She was a member, and also taught Sunday school, at Yeaman Church of Christ.

    Mary Ruth Nelson, 88, of Elizabethtown died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her daughter's home in Big Clifty.

    She was a native of Jamestown, KY.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Sam" Nelson; her parents, Roy Halsell and Dora Ivas Ford Halsell.

    He was born Oct. 29, 1942, in Grayson County, the son of W.H. and Treasia Kerr.

    Jason Michael Grant, 37, of Corydon, Ind., died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Indian Creek Care and Rehabilitation.

    He was born Oct. 14, 1975, in Louisville the son of Larry and Darlene Grant.

    Survivors include his mother, Darlene Grant; special mother, Bernadette Chambers; brother, Stacy Grant; sister, Brandy Hubbuch; special sisters, Melissa Branham, Valerie Mattingly and Kim Fulkerson; and special caregiver, Pam Wilson.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Grant; a brother, Keith Grant; and paternal grandparents, James and Mildred Grant.

  • Ezra T. Stevenson, 82

    Ezra T. Stevenson, 82, of Leitchfield died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

    He was born June 21, 1931, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of Charles Marion and Mary Jane Armes Stevenson.

    Survivors include his brothers, James Walter, Charles “Hawkeye” and Lawrence Stevenson; sisters, Gladys McClellan, Alice Davis, Charlotte Ford and Ruby Scott; along with several nieces and nephews.
