  • David Henry Bratton, 82

    David Henry Bratton, 82, of Leitchfield died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Springview Health and Rehab Center in Leitchfield.

    He was born June 25, 1931, in Fulton County, Penn., the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Cline Bratton.

    He was a veteran and a retired fire chief and attended Potter’s Hope Ministries.

  • Kenneth Lee Martin, 79

    Kenneth Lee Martin, 79, of Leitchfield died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Springview Health and Rehab in Leitchfield.

    He was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Evansville, Ind., the son of the late Ray and Mamie M. English Martin.

    He was retired from Vermont American and enjoyed fishing.

    Survivors include his wife Anna Marie Martin; two sons, Robert Lee Martin and Kenneth Lewis Martin both of Leitchfield; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darrell.

  • James Hancil Skaggs, 82

    James Hancil Skaggs, 82, of Big Clifty died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

    He was born February 11, 1932, son of the late Sam and Addie Hatfield Skaggs.

    He was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church, Big Clifty Masonic Lodge #599 and was a retired maintenance supervisor/machinist for Brown Williamson.

    William Dave Bryant, 94, of Caneyville, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. 

    William was born April 28, 1919, in Butler County, the son of the late Dave and Leora (Embry) Bryant. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Christian Home Church of Christ.  

  • Charles R. Teague, 86

    Charles R. Teague, 86, of Louisville died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  
    He was born June 1, 1927, in Webb City, Mo., the son of the late William and Julia (Kelso) Teague. He was a retired painter. He served in the U.S. Army and received the Good Conduct and the National Defense Service medals.    
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella; two stepsons, Wayne and Randy Miller; and a brother, Chester Teague.

  • William Morris ‘Mac’ McDaniel, 66

    William Morris "Mac" McDaniel, 66, of McDaniels died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital.

    He was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Louisville, the son of the late William Robert and Emma Elizabeth Williams McDaniel. He retired from Jones Plastics after 30 years and was a  Army veteran. He was a member of Grayson County Moose Lodge, an active member of NRA and a member of Masonic Lodge # 1951 in Louisville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, making wine, restoring cars and just being a "jack of all trades".

  • William H. Wiedemann, 85

    William H.  Wiedermann, 85, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2013, in Colorado.

    He was a retired U.S. Army veteran. He was married to the late Wilma Wiedemann, with whom he had two children.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Wilma Wiedemann.

    Surivvors include a son, Gary Wiedemann; a daughter, Donna Wiedemann; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

    The funeral will begin at noon Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Clarkson Cemetery.

  • Homa Lee Minton Decker, 85

    Homa Lee Minton Decker, 85, of Leitchfield died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
    She was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Edmonson County, the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Highbaugh Minton. She enjoyed reading, especially her Bible, singing, watching gospel shows on television, and growing flowers. She was a member of Leitchfield Church of God since 1977.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Decker; and four brothers, Charles, Chestine, Jesse, and Ted.
