  • Tony Edward Holbert, 64

    Tony Edward Holbert, 64, of Anneta died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his residence.

    He was born Jan. 23, 1949, in New Haven, the son of the late Edward G. and Barbara Wanger Holbert.

    He was a former truck driver who enjoyed restoring and working on cars. He liked to draw and enjoyed making crafts made with matchsticks. He was a Viet Nam War veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended McGrew Memorial General Baptist Church.

  • Bertha Embry Crain, 94

    Bertha Embry Crain, 94, of Caneyville, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. 

    She was born Feb. 21, 1919, in Butler County, the daughter of the late Jackson and Martha (King) Embry. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member at Old Decker General Baptist Church in Butler County.  

  • Randall Leslie, 77

    Randall Leslie, 77, of Westview, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

    He was born Nov. 6, 1935, in Mook, Ky., the son of the late Lottis and Maudie Lucas Leslie. He was a member of Coyles Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a retired truck driver for Centinel Transportation and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

    Survivors include three children, Bonnie Pierce of Clarkson, Marty Leslie of Harned and Randy Leslie of Louisville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel Leslie

  • Fay Moon, 83

    Fay Moon, 83, of Sunfish died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, in Bowling Green.

    She was a homemaker and attended Harvest Time Apostolic Church.

    The Anneta native was the daughter of the late Alvey Napper and Audrey Brooks Napper. She was the wife of the late Estel Moon.

  • Tony Scott, 45

    Tony Scott, 45, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, in Mississippi.

    The Louisville native was a computer technician for IBM, a Desert Storm Air Force veteran and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church. He was the son of Barbara Scott Priddy of Anneta and the late Arthur Scott.

  • Charles Ray Webb, 52

    Charles Ray Webb, 52, of Clarkson died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
    He was born April 24, 1961 in Leitchfield, the son of the late Cecil and Mamie Kerr Webb.
    He was a former deputy jailer for Grayson County Detention Center, who enjoyed riding horses, fishing and camping with his grandkids. He was a member of Broadford Missionary Baptist Church.

  • Helen Ivene Pence, 65

    Helen Ivene Pence, 65, of Clarkson died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.
    She was born Oct. 13, 1947, in Grayson County. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Vada Hatfield Staples.
    She was married to Farley T. Pence for 50 years. She was a farming housewife, an employee of Hardin County Board of Education for 20 years and a member of Summit Church of Christ.

  • Janice Richerson Miller, 76

    Janice Richerson Miller, 76, of Big Clifty died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at her residence.

    She was the daughter of the late Ben and Morna Allen Richerson and was married to Taylor Miller.

    She was a housewife and member of Clarkson Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her husband, Taylor; three daughters; Patricia Milliner, Debbie Alvey and Wanda Miller; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Richerson; and a sister, Jane Osborne.

  • Brently Neal Harrison, 48

    Brently Neal Harrison, 48, of Anneta died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at his residence.

    He was born Oct. 28, 1964, in Leitchfield, the son of the late Donald Ray Harrison and Myretta Jane Duvall Harrison.

    He was a masonry laborer for VanMeter Construction, who enjoyed hunting arrowheads and fishing.

    Pearl Donna Farris, 87, of Caneyville died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at her residence. 

    She was born June 19, 1926, in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Abe and Hulda (Hayes) Higgs. She was a housewife, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
