  • Must I obey my parents since they are not Christians?

Teenagers sincere about their faith may often run head long into differences with their parents if they are not fully devoted followers of Christ themselves. If a person becomes a Christian it means they have repented of their sins, trusted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and are probably walking in a different direction than they once were headed.

  • Are angels and humans related?

Both angels and humans are the creation of God the same as all the rest of the Universe. We are not told all the details of Creation but in Genesis the Bible states that all things came at the direction of the divine (Genesis 1:1).

  • Let Christ reign supreme

Everybody needs to love and be loved. Hopefully, we realize that the greatest love of our life should be the Lord Jesus. When we consider what He has done for us and what He will do for us eternally, how can we not love Him.

Jesus was asked one day, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?" (Matthew 22:36-38).  He said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."

  • If a Christian takes medicine does it show no faith in the Lord?

There is no verse in the Bible, which states a Christian should not take medicine. There is that verse in 2 Chronicles 16:12 which condemns King Asa because he ‘only’ sought the advice of physicians and refused to ask the Lord for direction. This would not be the only case where the medical professionals did all they could do and the patient still died. So people may have lived if they did not get a wrong diagnosis while other people would be alive longer if they were not so stubborn about going to a doctor or taking their suggestions.

  • Jesus can satisfy your thirst for happiness

Many people feel disappointed with life. They search for fulfillment and satisfaction, only to find emptiness and disappointment. In despair some turn to alcohol, drugs and even suicide.

  • What will heaven really be like?

Although I have never been there and some others far better than myself have written and preached sermons on the topic I will share some small insights. Being with Jesus in a face to face encounter will make it Heaven for me no matter where it is.

  • New man in an old body

No person need stay the way he or she is. One's life can be made over through the transforming work of Christ.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come."

The Bible pictures man in his unredeemed state as an enemy of God. When a person is saved the basic relationship is changed from an enemy of God to a friend of God.

  • Crown Him lord of all

Lew Wallace, author of Ben Hur, said, "After six years given to the impartial investigation of Christianity as to its truth or falsity, I have come to the deliberate conclusion that Jesus Christ is the Messiah of the Jews, the Savior of the world and my personal Savior." He began his journey a non-believer and after careful study became a believer in Christ.

  • Question: Why do I have Problems?

Answer: Asking this question calls for a cause and effect type of answer. Science always has a similar dynamic. If define problems as unwanted results the following might be helpful insight.

  • Three faith truths of the New Year

We have just finished an eventful year. There are things we want to discard in the waste basket, forget and move on into 2011. But there are some things we want to hold on to and make a part of this new year. I want to mention three of those truths.
