Larry Logsdon has to constantly use oxygen and tubing to help breathe. The Leitchfield man has been battling idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for more than a year. There is no cure for the disease. He is currently awaiting a double-lung transplant.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is an illness few know about, but it takes more lives each year than breast cancer.

Larry Logsdon of Leitchfield was diagnosed with the disease about 18 months ago and now is waiting for a double-lung transplant.

“Both (my lungs) are like a cracker,” Logsdon said. “I don’t hurt, I just have no air.”
