United States flag should have more than eyes on it at parades

In the last 30 years or so, I’ve attended a lot of parades. Yet I’ve never saluted the flag at any of those parades.
Honestly, I didn’t realize there was anything to do besides watch the flag as it was marched by. I am no longer ignorant about this detail of American life and I must thank David Rose for bringing it to my attention.
Rose commented one day that few around here show the appropriate respect for the flag during a parade. I didn’t know what he meant until I looked up flag etiquette on the Internet.
