Saturday, Nov. 20, has been declared National Survivors of Suicide Day in Grayson County. Judge-Executive Gary Logsdon signed the proclamation Friday, Nov. 12, with, Dave Johnston, Spike and Faye Johnston, Michelle Jacobs and Alexis VanMeter watching. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Foundation defines suicide survivors as friends and family of those who have committed suicide. The local group will have a Survivor’s Day conference for the newly bereaved from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at St. Augustine Parish Hall. For information, call VanMeter at 242-2355.
