School tax rate to see slight increase

-A A +A
By Rebecca Morris

Grayson County’s property owners will see a slight increase in their school taxes this fall, under a tax rate recently adopted by the school board.
During a special meeting Aug. 24, the board approved going with a 4 percent revenue increase, which finance director Erin Embry said had been discussed in district budget meetings.
Seeking that revenue increase will boost the district’s property tax rate from 2016’s 50.2 cents per $100 assessed value to 51.1 cents.
