Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-2) announced today, Tuesday, July 19, that the city of Leitchfield, Ky., is being awarded a $1 million Public Works Grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to help construct a new raw water intake and improve its current source in Rough River Lake Reservoir.
Congressman Guthrie, who wrote a letter of support for the grant and worked with Mayor William Thomason and local officials to help apply for the grant, said the proposed project will help provide a more dependable and high quality water source.
