Grayson County residents will have the choice to pay fire dues with their property tax bills. Fire dues still will be voluntary but the tax bill will remind residents of the importance of paying the fees.
Volunteer fire departments in Grayson County need money from their community to pay water and electric bills in addition to maintaining equipment they use to keep the communities safe. Hard times are similar for county residents and volunteer fire departments but the fact is, these fire departments are necessary for the safety of the community.
