Preliminary statistics* indicate that two people died in two separate crashes on Kentucky roadways during the Thanksgiving holiday enforcement period (Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at 11:59 p.m.). Last year there were nine highway fatalities during the same time period.
Both fatalities involved motor vehicles and neither victim was wearing a seat belt. The crashes occurred in Fayette and Mercer County.
