Cecil Beatty, 84

Cecil Beatty, 84, of Leitchfield died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford.

He was born July 15, 1927, in Caneyville, the son of Shady and Anna Pruitt Beatty. He was a sawmill operator. He was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by a sister, Aline Snyder of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Irene Pettrey; and four brothers, Roy, Stanley, Raymond and Russell Beatty.

The funeral will begin at noon Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Dermitt Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. William Dodson will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service.
