When Christy Beville had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2000, it never occurred to her to do a story in the paper.
“Everyone knew what (cancer) was,” she said. “But nobody knows about Cushing’s Disease. Even my closest friends don’t understand it.”
Beville, of Caneyville, was diagnosed with Cushing’s in 2011. The diagnosis is difficult because Cushing’s mimics many other illnesses. Even after doctors suspected it, Beville’s diagnosis was six or seven months away.
