$5,000 reward offered in funeral-time burglary

Kentucky Farm Bureau provides incentive for information

Kentucky Farm Bureau is offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of burglars responsible for a break-in and theft from a Clarkson home during a family funeral.

The home of Dennis and Cindy Higdon was burglarized when they attended the funeral of their son, Christian, who was slain June 16 in Hardin County.

Farm Bureau is offering the reward in the hopes that someone will come forth with credible information about who may have committed the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown at (270) 766-5078 or (800) 222-5555.

Kentucky State Police are following information supplied by residents but report no substantional leads. The investigation in ongoing.

Among items missing from the home was a jewelry box containing several necklaces and rings, two Milwaukee brand hammer drills, a Garmin GPS, three Toshiba laptop computers with one charging cable, an Xbox 360 Kinect, a Nintendo Wii game console and a few hundred dollars in loose change and silver half dollars. 

Four weapons also were taken: A Thompson Center single shot Mach III rifle, Iticha 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun, 20-gauge double barrel shotgun-unknown make and a Charter Arms .223 rifle with a mounted scope.
